Biochemical Tests

Biochemical tests may be suggested. These are optional, but are sometimes helpful in giving a clearer picture of what is happening in the body, and to monitor your progress.

Nutritional Therapists have access to a wide range of scientific tests that can help to clarify underlining causes of a problem, so it can be tackled more quickly and efficiently. Tests can allow you to see the problem yourself and to measure the improvements you make, for instance, in the case of heavy metal toxicity or stress hormone profiles.

Most of these tests can be carried out yourself in your own home, taking samples of breath, saliva, urine, hair or stools. However, for some blood tests, you would need to ask your GP to take a blood sample for you to forward to the laboratory. All tests are undertaken by reputable medical laboratories.
